Do people really need to have a goal?

Image
In a world that often values productivity, achievement, and success above all else, it can be easy to feel pressure to set and achieve goals in all areas of our lives. However, it is important to recognize that it is okay to not have a specific goal or direction in life. First and foremost, it is important to remember that everyone has their own unique journey in life, and what works for one person may not work for another. Some people may find great fulfillment in setting and achieving specific goals, while others may prefer to simply live in the moment and let life unfold as it will. There are many reasons why someone may not have a specific goal or direction in life. Perhaps they are still exploring their interests and passions, or they may have experienced a significant change or setback that has caused them to re-evaluate their priorities. Alternatively, they may simply feel content and fulfilled with the way things are currently unfolding in their lives, and may not f...

The journey is more beautiful than the end sometimes!

Dear friends,  I know there had been quite a long gap after I wrote my last blog. Last two months were really testing with lots of ups and downs quite often than the usual. Having won the battle against COVID after testing positive, here I am writing again to you again and it is special to me in many aspects but the most of it is that I, perhaps we bidding farewell to our college life. From hating the university because of its rules and restrictions to writing this farewell post wanting to hug my friends to bid adieu for one last time, TNAU has made it to the roots of myself in every aspect. It is the place where I got to metamorphosize myself from a nerdy teen to the one now I can safely say is better than what I was (all of us was) in the beginning. Who would've thought that we would miss the 7.30 field or lab classes to the tightly-packed schedules? We have learnt to sit through a boring lecture and try to cope up with the strenuous syllabus, haven't we?  So, remember that...

Humanity - The Essence of our Existence

Image
When we talk about humanity , there can be various perspectives to look at it. The simplest definition is - everything that makes us human can be considered a part of humanity. This can be love, hope, lust, fear and much more. All these attributes are part of humanity because we experience them regularly while living our life. To live a happy and humble life, it is very important to understand how others think. Sometimes, we end up living in our cocoon and believing that our way of thinking is the absolute ultimate truth. We shut our minds from knowing more about the people around us, their thoughts and beliefs and we blame them for being different. This is the same world where we prefer to invest in research for new smart phones and technologies than in finding the cure for new age terminal diseases like poverty and hunger. We are moving forward just through our inventions, but not through our understanding of each other.   We live in a world in which, any person can choose his/ h...

Queerphobia, the biggest STIGMA!

Image
Dear friends, I hope you all are in the pink of your health. It should be brought to your notice that June every year is regarded as the Pride Month all over the world. It is indeed known that we celebrate special days all round the year to praise and commemorate it only on those occasions and forget the very meaning of it during the rest of the days. Though the time it took to properly decriminalize homosexuality in our country and normalize the alternative sexualities and genders were long, the plight faced by the queer people are quite longer still. The LGBTQIA+ people who already face bias, attacks and bullies simply for who they are or whom they love are now experiencing heightened stigma as a result of the virus. Queerphobia has its roots from almost all the sections of the society starting from within our homes to the educational institutions to the workplaces. We incorporate queerphobia into the minds of our children from an early age and thus there exists staggering amou...

The world has plenty of critics already!

The demise of a wild pregnant elephant in Thiruvizhamkunnu forest section of Kerala has triggered a nationwide outrage in the past couple of days. Despite fact-checking the information, we see a majority of us posting 'Sorry' and 'Humanity lost' on their social media handles. There is yet another group, which claims this unrest among the people for the issue is rather just overreaction and an act of stupidity.  Firstly, the reality of how the elephant had been injured remains uncertain. There is an equal possibility of this might even be natural and the elephant would have eaten the tampered pineapple fruit which was initially thought to be kept for protecting the fields from the ruckus caused by the wild boars or it could even be some morons who had intentionally fed the elephant.  The state government of Kerala assured that this unethical and inhuman act will be taken as a serious issue and the offenders if any will be punished. Some of the NGOs have even announced ca...

What women empowerment really is during pandemic times !?

Image
While there is a lot of opinions and polls going on as the world now face the novel coronavirus pandemic, there is a specific lot which has received very less or meagre attention they are WOMEN. Though from the very beginning we discuss empowering and giving equal rights to them, we only have succeeded are very little that women are still facing threats and are vulnerable in all sections of society. The COVID-19 pandemic has made the conditions even worse for the female population who are almost 70 per cent of the frontline workers helping people out during these testing times. Reportedly, the cases of domestic violence against women had been peaking since the world was put to work from home. Not accessible to some of the essentials that they as naturally require during work hours and the stress faced both by the homemakers and the working people are so demeaning. So, here are some of the steps that could be followed other than not just reading and giving advice. Try to share ...
